The William Baldwin Group offers public relations and marketing communications counsel for high tech electronics companies in the semiconductor, EDA, IP, and communications industries. Our scope includes high tech editors in Europe, Asia and North America. We were founded in July, 1988.
To achieve the maximum amount of high quality, global editorial coverage that appropriately positions our clients, their technology and their products for minimal cost.
We view the editorial community as our primary client. Thus, the PR programs we implement for our clients are designed to meet the needs, interests, and schedules of each member of the editorial community. This means we stay abreast of what's going on in the industry. William Baldwin Group employees read over eighty electronics trade journals every month in order to stay current with those issues and interests. Story ideas are continually discussed and developed with editors. Our press kits contain in-depth technical white papers and competitive positioning. We strenuously avoid the use of self-serving quotes and commercial or undocumented claims. Editor appreciate this.
Since we work with editors all over the world, we can provide global coverage at a fraction of the cost required to obtain "localized" PR. Rather than paying monthly retainers to multiple agencies, the only added costs of a global program are translation (which we provide) and any additional postage or printing. We have excellent relationships with European and Asian, as well as North American editors and we get excellent coverage for our clients. In fact, European companies have selected us to represent them in Europe and Asian, as well as in North America.

A good story is the main element of a successful PR campaign. Editors want stories that are useful to their readers in the engineering community. They want sufficient technical content and comparative positioning to provide their readers with useful insights into solving their engineering challenges. Our job is to convey how our clients' products and technologies relate to current events and trends in the industry. If we can aid the editor in understanding how our clients fit into the current environment, we can get their stories published and gain the support of the editor.
Technology. Technology. Technology. Electronics editors and their readers want to know how and why new technologies and products can help them do their jobs. We provide in-depth technical and application detail in news releases, features lists, and white papers. Our press releases are never longer than they need to be. Nor are they limited to the proverbial "two-page press release". They are as long as they need to be to convey the message and import of an announcement. Announcements typically include substantial background information in the form of white papers, backgrounders, features lists and diagrams and photos. Frequently our white papers are published verbatim. This information is mailed or emailed with a personal note from our principal to over 400 editors and analysts worldwide. When appropriate, editors are also contacted by telephone. If desired one-on-one interviews are arranged by telephone, at trade shows or at the editor's office.

We expect to provide a return on your PR investment and we measure that return by tracking client coverage in eighty publications worldwide. We establish a value for the coverage by calculating what it would cost to purchase advertising space equivalent to the editorial coverage. Typically, the value of the coverage our clients receive is two to four times greater than their PR expenditure. We guarantee that the advertising value of the coverage our clients get will be at least double their expenditure for PR.
